Our Legacy

Founded in 1989 by visionary physician-entrepreneur Dr. A.M. Shamim, Labaid began with a mission to simplify access to healthcare by integrating diagnostics, consultations, and pharmacies into a single platform. What started as a diagnostic center in Dhaka has now grown into a diverse healthcare ecosystem.

In 2004, Labaid opened Labaid Cardiac Hospital, reducing the need for Bangladeshis to travel abroad for heart care. This was followed by Labaid Specialized Hospital (2006) and Labaid Cancer Hospital, delivering multidisciplinary, tertiary-level care with cutting-edge technology and a paperless medical record system.

Pharmaceuticals: With its own manufacturing plant, Labaid ensures medicine quality and safety through direct supply chains and a cold-chain network of 25+ Labaid Pharmacies, setting a national benchmark in pharmaceutical retail.

- State University of Bangladesh (2002)
- Bangladesh Institute of Medical and Dental Technology (1996)
